from my Dad to You!
From the time I was very little, I have fond memories of my Dad taking me to work at his grocery store. He would put a red stock clerks apron on me…with my own name tag and have me help him. On through high school and college, I worked with him and learned first hand the tremendous importance he placed on taking care of his customers!
Warm greetings, friendly smiles and sincere thank you’s were the norm at my Dad’s store. If you couldn’t find an item, helpful clerks would take you to that item’s location in the store. The produce clerk would help you pick out the freshest fruits and vegetables.
The butcher would happily custom cut your meat the way you wanted it and give you cooking suggestions. The bag boy would carefully pack your groceries and bring them out to your car
if need be.
I can still see my Dad in his store wearing his white shirt,
black bow tie and a pencil behind his ear. He knew that business
was about taking care of people and that it was the customers who paid his salary.
Sadly, my dad’s type of caring old fashioned friendly, dependable service is most often a thing of the past but his spirit and lessons on customer service will always live on here at Bank Express.
